THE JAMES SMITH ENDOWMENT
The James Smith endowment to the IPPA supports the existing funding structure of the International Photoacoustic and Photothermal Association. The James Smith Prize designation first appeared on the 2011 Prize certificates.
THE GERALD J. DIEBOLD PRIZE IN THEORETICAL PHOTACOUSTICS AND PHOTOTHERMICS ENDOWMENT
This new Prize was established in 2024 and will be awarded every 4 years during the well established biennial International Conference on Photoacoustic and Photothermal Phenomena (every 2 ICPPP cycles).
Anyone interested in donating an extra IPPA Prize in their name (or in the name of some worthy individual) are encouraged to do so. This will allow the Asssociation to expand the awarding of its Prizes to more outstanding scientists and engineers working in our field.
